Ukraine blames Russia after air alert app sends out false warnings
What happened
Ukraine's air force said its air alert app was probably hit by hostile interference on Sunday after it briefly showed a radiation alert over Kyiv.
The app also flagged other areas under a nuclear alert, but the anomaly soon disappeared, according to DW.
The air force said on Telegram that there is no radiation threat and urged people to stay calm.
The glitch came as the Kherson region ceasefire, which began on Tuesday, expired on Sunday after Russia declined an extension, Ukrainian officials said.
Zelensky said Russian strikes hit energy infrastructure in four regions overnight and left hundreds of thousands of homes without power, with some connections restored on Sunday.
Zelensky also said Ukraine hit a missile fuel producer in Russia's Rostov region, starting a fire and damaging four production facilities.
