Countries Weigh, and Worry About, What Trump Will Do After Midterm Defeat
What happened
Democrats won both the Senate and the House in Tuesday's midterm elections, including victories in Republican strongholds, in what Rappler described as a rebuke of President Donald Trump.
Voters were driven by frustration over the war with Iran, high living costs and anger at Trump's handling of the country, according to Rappler.
Trump accepted the result, said he would work with Democrats and warned he would veto any bills he considers "insane," according to Fox News and The New York Times interviews.
Trump said rising oil prices, more than the war itself, hurt Republicans, though he also told Fox News that Iran played a part, according to To Vima and Middle East Eye.
Democrats are expected to investigate Trump's administration from January and can block his nominees, including any Supreme Court pick, Rappler said.
“They'll send over things that are insane, and I'll veto them”
