Flavio Bolsonaro vows to lead opposition after Brazil court imposes travel ban
What happened
Flávio Bolsonaro, who lost Brazil's presidential runoff, said a Supreme Court justice ordered him to surrender his passports and barred him from leaving the country, and he vowed to lead the opposition.
The 45-year-old senator is under investigation over alleged corruption and money laundering tied to financing a film about his father Jair Bolsonaro, and he denies wrongdoing.
He said the order traces back to a remark by his brother Eduardo Bolsonaro, who lives in the US, that Flávio would have to go abroad if he lost.
He also repeated that he wants the vote annulled, arguing longer voting hours on Sunday favored Lula, though he had asked for the extension himself.
His Liberal Party now says it recognizes the result but wants the problems it raised examined thoroughly, party chair Valdemar Costa Neto said.
“To withstand the chaos, I'm going to organise the opposition”
