Besigye release talks gain momentum as treason trial resumes
KAMPALA — Fresh reports of efforts to secure the release of jailed opposition politician Dr Kizza Besigye have emerged as his treason case continues before the High Court in Kampala, but his wife, UNAIDS Executive Director Winnie Byanyima, has dismissed claims that negotiations are underway.
